This device cannot start. (Code 10)

my usb was working fine till yesterday until my friend borrowed to watch few movies. Today when i tried it says (in device manager)
“This device cannot start. (Code 10)
Click ‘Check for solutions’ to send data about this device to Microsoft and to see if there is a solution available.”
its working fine in other laptos, just not on mine.
my comp info:
Windows Vista Home Premium
32-bit Operating system
any help would be much appreciated
