codecs on an external drive

If I install my codecs on an external hd, and then pass it to a friend, will he be able to watch mkv mhd’s or does it have to be installed onto his pute? oh btw anyone using vista, does the klite and cccp codec packs run ok tx in advance

Nah that wont work but maybe try a portable version of a player like KMP or VLC or etc

sorry thats what I was thinking.use the klite pack that has old version of wmp combined……

Not possible.
Portable players are your best bet
