Beating the Trace

August 4th, 2016

Well currently I attend school at a local university and I live on campus. So, living on campus, I am forced to use their internet access and be connected to their supervised and scanned network. Last week, while I was using BitTorrent, the network administrators were able to detect the downloading of copyrighted material and they shut off my internet and had me sign tons of paperwork saying I wouldn’t do it again. I went for 2 months without getting caught and they managed to catch me. They also caught another person on my dorm floor during the same day, which would lead me to believe that they were scanning connection systematically by floors and building. Anyway….thats the background to the situation. My real question is…..can I beat their system? Is there a way to completely anonymize my computer, connection, and downloads? Any help would be appreciated. Just want to be able to download movies to enjoy!
Thanks in advance!

Don't use torrents or use a VPN.
Actually I don’t think that would help, since he connects to the internet trough the campus connection, and not trough the VPN, so he will always be tracable.
Answer #4
No way to proxy myself on their network at all?
Answer #5
hotspot shield
ultrasurf

the best way, have someone outside that network set up a computer (supplied by you, don’t be cheap) in their house running ccproxy and use that comp to run all of your net connections through
these are just a few ways. you can get more creative with this, but above are the simple ways
