windows 7 safely remove usb stick, phone…
August 6th, 2016
in windows xp that never happened (hdd shuts down normally and phone automatically exits from storage mode)
is there a solution for windows 7 or its ok to remove devices like that??
If it’s happening in Windows 7, then it might be that Readyboost has enabled itself? It can also happen when files are still in use on that drive. You can check for Readyboost by right-clicking the drive, and looking in the Readyboost tab.
Weirdly, my N95 did the same for a little while, but stopped doing it all of a sudden, so I never found out what was causing it…
I checked Readyboost and it is not on! any suggestions?
Is this on every Windows 7 or it’s due the hardware/computer model?
I haven’t had it happen since I installed W7 several months ago, but it can be many things. Some antivirus packages scan USB stuff when they’re plugged in or removed as well, which can cause them to stall for a while. Try installing the latest chipset drivers for your motherboard, the model can be found with CPU-Z.
every driver is the latest. doesn’t matter, simply shutdown computer and plu out !
It might be that the your USB Controller driver is not compatible with windows 7. Try to do more digging around. Are you using the default driver of windows 7 for your USB controller or using the Motherboards drivers?
when I installed Windows 7 USB Controller drivers install themselves
So it is the default drives used by windows 7. I suggest you look for the driver of the manufacturer of the motherboard on their website. They should provide a new driver for it.
there is no manufacturer drivers in offer by the websites.
