Windows 7/8 live USB/Stick ISO

I was given one Acer Aspire 5750G from an very good friend to keep, but the problem is, it’s HDD has crashed. Here’s the specs:
CPU: i5 2 i5-2410M / 2.3 GHz
GPU: Intel HD3000
RAM: 4GB
I’ve had another 320gb hdd laying around, but sadly that’s a crashed one too Moreover, I got a lot of 8/16GB USB Sticks which I do not use, and I was wondering if I could get some kind of Windows 7 or 8 USB Stick for a while until I replace it’s HDD..
I’ve got one stick running with Mini Windows XP, however that’s a rescue kit and I can’t really run what I want. I do not mind of it being static (not saving when turning off), I just want to be W7 or W8, so that I can run programs and games from an external HDD when I run the windows from the stick. I’m also aware that the speed wont be the same as an internal HDD, but if it works with windows, it’ll be fine!
(PS: I do not want Linux, I also have Backtrack on a CD which I could use, but I need to run programs written on XP/7, so ‘wine’ is out of options.)
I was told of Windows to Go, is it any good? Please suggest me with any ready livecd-iso…
