Windows 7

May 17th, 2014

Can someone tell me why I cannot just use anything to burn the Windows 7 USB DVD to a disk with what I already have and I need to use this Windows 7 USB tool thing. It’s not even working for me and causing me to have to sit here when I have already been at this looking for an installation cd to start my laptop up so I can repair what my dumb husband did in the first place. Grrr. . . Thanks!

Why can’t you burn the .iso to a DVD?

if the windows 7 dvd to usb shows that it was successful, than it should be good. the reason why it may not be working is perhaps u did not set it in the bios to boot from usb and secondly, u may need a better compatible usb drive. i have a usb drive thats a piece of junk and wont boot anything at all, and then i have one which is newer and im able to boot with windows 7 using the windows 7 usb tool.

you don’t need a “tool” with this method (diskpart is a windows app and on most windows systems already)

ChaoticMommy replied: Why is the USB tool needed?
It’s needed ONLY if you want to transfer ISO to USB. That, or use WinToFlash!
If you can boot from DVD, then there is no need to use USB tool…
