Which Windows is best for my PC?

Could someone tell me the diff and if its something about old programs not working can you please give me some examples, thanks

Vista ultimate i would say. not sure though since i don’t know if the video card is good or not.

Im running on lower specs with Vista Ultimate and it runs great, you’ll be find with any version of Vista

vista 64bit (32bit has better compatibility, but you would only be able to use 3gb of your ram with a 32bit OS)
home premium or ultimate (depends on if you need the extra ‘features’ of ultimate/if you are buying it or pirating it)

chances are low otherwise there wouldnt be 800k members here. Just install Vista and use a patch. They wont be able to catch you easily, no cops will come to your house

I have about the same spec as you, and I’m running Vista Ultimate 64bit. You’ll be fine with that, and you most probably like a 99.999999% chance won’t get caught if you get it from here.

the Dell CD contains drivers as well integrated so you might be installing those as well onto your pc. It will work but its not recommended to. And your hardware is built/designed for vista so might as well take advantage of it and improve your gaming experience

If your don’t like vista after trying it out check out try server 2008 the say code base as vista and can use vista drivers. Check the thread here about it other than that try hacked streamline verions like tinyvista, tiny2003, tinyXP etc.

no. the Dell CD will detect that you dont have the hardware that the disk was intended for and not install (assuming that Dell does thing even remotely the same as Compaq)

There isn’t anything you would miss for not using Ultimate anyway. Home Premium is all you would need

If you definitely want Vista, get Home Basic 64bit. Ultimate just has tons of useless junk added which you don’t want anyway, and it just slows down your PC. If you still want the useless Aero interface, get Home Premium, but Basic is the same OS with as little clutter as possible, so that is the one I recommend, if you REALLY must have Vista.

I would recommend you XP x32 because everything work on it. But if you know more than basic things on PC then go for Vista Ultimate x32.

why 32bit? lol he’s got 4GB ram and a 1GB gpu, thats 1stick wasted then, no point and hardware is vista designed
