(SOLVED) a video as a screensaver? (Windows XP)
January 28th, 2020
Is it possible to make a video as a screensaver?
PS: I’m willing to download programs that arn’t incredibly large.
You could make your own with Screensaver factory. Just do a search for it on here.
heres a little program i wrote a while ago that does just that
http://~ Dead file host ~/files/160472581/vid_as_scr.zip
extract them into your system32 directory, and open vid_as_src.cfg to point to the video file you want
havent used this for ages, cant guarantee it works, pm me if you have problems
edit: just dug up my source code, and it appears to use the windows media player control, and may have problems with newer versions

Hmm… this looks more promising. Ok, i’ll test it out and report back.
EDIT: It works! The video is sorta down on quality, but it works!
Thanks!
Glad it worked =) Made a couple of nice screensavers myself with that. hehe
You can use VLC player
Start the video with VLC player
Go to the video tab
Select Wallpaper
Then minimize VLC player
Hope it helped
