Reloading windows XP

November 6th, 2020

Hi folks, I have an old laptop with XP that I’d like to reinstall. The problem is that while I have the product key from the laptop, I don’t have the disk. I do have another disc but not the product key for it.
Can one be used with the other or the the keys exclusive to the computers they originally came with?

key’s arent tied to a computer (unless oem) but to the windows version. You can’t use a WinXP home key on a WinXP Pro version and vice versa. That’s all

If you have a DELL laptop, Download this copy:
http://www.google.com?t=3047133&start=0
If you don’t have a debrid account, Just use this premium link generator site (Along with the UL link)
www.exrapidleech.info
If you don’t have a DELL, Then get this one:
https://docs.google.com/uc?id=0B7jkw2rnDxh4dnBDVEEtbzN5Z1U&export=download
It’s the volume license edition (Which doesn’t require activation!) If you decide to go with this one, PM me and I’ll hook you up with a fully working key!
Btw, Don’t forget to download all the drivers in advance from your laptop manufacturer site.
And if windows setup doesn’t recognize your hard drive, You’ll have to either set the SATA controller to operate in IDE/Compatibility mode (From the BIOS) or integrate the SATA driver pack to it, As explained here:

Good luck!

Thanks guys, The XP OS disc that I have is from Dell and I also do have the backup disc for the drivers which is for the original Toshiba XP laptop.
Will see if I can make them work.
Answer #4
Not sure what you’re saying. But you should only use a DELL XP copy on a DELL computer!
When used on a DELL computer, It’d make use of the integrated key (And won’t prompt you) as well
as self-activate and appear genuine. When used on a Non-DELL, Not only it’d ask you for a key, But it’d appear as non-genuine (You also might be required to use an activation crack in order to activate it!) So again, Unless the computer you’re performing the reinstall on is a DELL, You’d be better off using the VL version^
Answer #5
The copy is from a Dell I used to have but don’t have the original key for and I was going to load it on to a Satellite that I only have it’s key and not the original OS install backup. You’re saying that won’t work?
Answer #6
It’d work, But it’d appear as non-genuine and may require activation!
So to sum it up once again: DELL XP COPY>DELL COMPUTER, NON-DELL>VL COPY^.

Roger Roger….I’ve been trying to clean up this laptop and figure a reinstall as a last resort. If I end up having to go that way, I’ll follow your directions.
Thanks,
