Playing MKV on PS3

Hi All,
im wondering if someone on here knows how to convert or do something with an MKV file so it plays on the Ps3 ? some movies on here are AVI which work fine but alot of the newer ones are MKV.
any help would be greatly appreciated,

mkv2vob why did noone recommend this? its the best easiest free way to convert…but arent almost all the new movies having cinavia on them now?

mkv2vob is the best because of the options you have and the ease of use. on the Cinavia front any file made by ripping a blu-ray by Sony or Warner Bros will have cinavia.

I just convert my files with any video converter pro to MP4 so they work on my PS3

just use vlc player to change to mp4

lol Or get Wondershare media converter. Converts audio files and video files to almost any format. You can easily find it here.

mkv & mp4 use the same codecs, they just have a different container, so no need to convert/re-encode
try this (no re-encoding needed)
get AVIDemux
open the MKV (leave video & audio set to “copy”)
under format choose “MP4”
save
try on the PS3
