Keyboard – Regional Settings Problem in XP
January 24th, 2020
I have got a very annoying problem, which I for once cannot solve myself nor with googling it.
I installed a newly downloaded version of XP *with SP3* from .
While installing it, I noticed that I could not select A German keyboard layout.
But I did not bother and thought I would be able to change it later under regional options… and I was wrong.
When I open START – Settings – Control Panel – Regional Options … etc.
I cannot choose a keyboard with German layout..
SCREENSHOT:
Is there any way I can install a German Keyboard Layout, even if windows does not show me the option?
Any help would be much appreciated..
..then I can start working without the character chart app…
Cheers, TP
I can change the inputlanguage to german(germany) , switserland, austria, liechtenstein, luxembourgh,…
maybe try one of them, it might work

Yes I can change the language, but I can only select US Keyboard layouts
If I choose German (Switzerland) I still get the same selection of US keyboards
Probably no one knows the solution to this
Next time I will install an original XP again
im not sure if this will help
but in the regional options
get into the languages tab and check both boxes
and hit apply
Sorry to say, but what you describe is exactly what I can not do
I can not choose any other keyboad layouts than US – even if I change tha language to german french whatever
Any help for installing ADDITIONAL keyboard layouts, and any clue where to get them from? Cheers, TP
Some people remove the languages using nlite…Once removed there is no going back…
