Is There Any Problems With This

January 27th, 2020

I am posting alot in Helpdesk recently….But I guess I need the help :p
I was wondering guys…I have this CPU-ID program running…looking at the temps…just wondering fi you guys can look at it and see if the temperature are ok.

Also while I made this topic…I am wondering How to check what speed my CPU and RAM are running at….and if they are found to be on standard speeds….can I increase the speed? like Overclock my CPU to like 4Ghz if its lower and use my RAM at 1600mhz….can you help me on this too? If you dont know what I am saying tell me and I will exaplin better with images what i mean.
EDIT: Thank all of Helpdesk People, I love Seeing People Help, It Allows Me To Gain Answers Straight Away And To Be Able To Ask Them Questions Further Too, Without Waiting Like 2 Weeks And Post :p

Ahh, your CPU is cool.. As far i know.. CPUs are okay to have upto 60 c
Answer #2
Your temps are very good.
If you have a good cooler and a good I7 920 you should be able to run it at 3.2 Ghz without any issues. Some go to 4 Ghz but it will shorten the lifespan a lot!
If you never did this before maybe it would be better to read a lot of how-to-overclock sites..

Thanks guys…I just wanted to know if the temps wee maybe a bit high…..and since you say they werent…it owns
Btw I am using Core i7 920 with MX-2 Thermal Paste with Scythe Mugen 2 (with fan running at 1900rpm, getting fan clip for another one at 1200rpm)
How can I overclock? Never done it before…can you teach me how/show me a guide for a Computer with Core i7 920, ASUS P6T Deluxe V2 to be overclocked to something that is reliable but faster than current set up.
EDIT: Also this didnt seem right…can you see if it is right…the RAM speed should be higher right?

Put two fans of the same speed on the Mugen.. Otherwise you’ll create some kind of overpressure in the heatsink that will create turbulence = more sound.. Cooling wise it still will be ok but not 100% 🙂
For the overclocking part: open the link in my last post..

Errm is there a program I can use to set the Fan speeds? Also any news on programs used to overclock the core i7 920 on ASUS P6T Deluxe v2, they have program Turbo V but what are the setting that they need to be at? You already seen the RAM….so can you say please
Answer #6
fan speeds: fan xpert of asus.. (check manual of your mobo)
Overclocking tool for your mobo: Asus TurboV (again check your manual and drivers cd sold with your mobo)
The settings can be different for every pc.. Thats why no one will give you settings for your pc.. (compare it with fingers.. not 1 finger is the same )

I see….I guess I will have to do some reading (I am not very fond of reading )
Answer #8
Anything more than 65C could get you worried. 40 and below is good!

Overclocking isn’t suggested right now.. it’s only necessary in using heavy applications.. and besides.. it makes system unstable sometimes.. I would suggest to avoid it.
