IMEI Change

Is there any method to actually changing your current IMEI number but also making the phone still valid for use on its current network?
Ive read a bunch of stuff on various forums and sites. “apparently” it is possible, but i cant see any evidence of this??
Any advice or knowledge would be great, thanks guys.

The best advice is don’t even think about it.
It’s highly illegal and takes specialized skills, knowledge and parts. Most modern phones have a single use programmable chip. You can’t change the IMEI with software. You need to change the chip. Even if you can reprogram the chip it still takes the same equipment that the phone manufacturer uses.

Not recommended because it’s illegal… and it’s hard to do… Like spudster said…
