[Help] Restoring system32 on Acer ZG5

Needing a hand fixing a mates laptop, It was a basic fix, running slow and I managed to ~ censored ~ up when reformating can anyone give me a hand finding where I can get restore.iso data to fix my problem,

do u have the manual which came the laptop ? there cud be a protected hidden partition on the hdrive which can be used to restore to original install …
it is more difficult if you need to try to recover the files which were on puter b4 u formatted , may or may not work , but go to apps section and search for” recover ” , , note do not install anything onto the hd b4 u try to recover …

When starting the laptop and clicking any option I get:
Windows could not start because the following file is missing or corrupt:
/Windows/System32/Config/System
you can attempt to repair this file by starting Windows Setup using the original setup CD-ROM.
Select 'R' at the first screen to start repair.

I possess no instruction manuals or cd’s with this laptop and the problem I had before was that it was running increadably slow.

try pressing the <Alt> + <F10> during the boot-up process … check it out to see what u get …
then go to http://en.kioskea.net/forum/affich-42517-re-installing-winxp-for-acer-aspire-one-zg5 this shud give u all u need..

Managed to fix it by installing a new operating system althought it was windows vista, its got 512mb ram and 10gb space, so i think im going to change it to ubuntu
