Built-In Webcam not working!

July 23rd, 2013

When I opened any camera program(eg. cyberlink youcam, skype video), there’s no light next to my laptop camera lens. In fact, there’s notification saying that “can’t start video. Try closing other program that might be using your webcam”.
I have reinstalled the driver for the camera (chicony) as well followed its PID which is USB\VID_04F2&PID_B1BB&MI_00. However, nothing happened. Then I tried to disable all the Service & Startup using msconfig but also didn’t work at all!
To check whether my webcam is function or not, I used Linux os ( boot from USB) and then I found that it working like a charm!!
But using Windows, it didnt work.. So somebody please help me coz I have running out of ideas..
My spec for laptop is as below:
Window 7 Ultimate x64, Asus N82JQ , i7-720QM
nVidia GeForce GT 335M

How do you expect getting helped when your being so unclear? “that” refers to what exactly?
Have you tried what I suggested?
Answer #5
Have you tried uninstalling and re-installing the drivers?

sorry about that, what i meant was I have try using the different driver as well as uninstalled and re-installed the driver. I did restore my windows but it turned out nothing. Maybe due to the recent date of restore point because I saw there’s only one history date for system restore (which is a few days ago).
