Answer #1
Go for a 64gb ssd instead of the slow mechanical drive
Answer #2
Thanks . How about this one $65 Sandisk 2.5″ 64GB SATA III SSD
Answer #3
To be honest, I think an SSD would be a waste of time – nothing else in the system is particularly fast (although there was no specific video card specified).
It’d be like putting racing tyres onto a Smart car..
Answer #4
Why the old processor and board? You can get an i3-4130 and 1150 socket board for the same price. And rethink the SSD. All you will have room for will be the OS and a few programs. Buy the largest 7200rpm drive you can find that fits in your budget (provided you are satisfied with manufacturer/quality). I just bought a 1tb WD Black for $75 so shop around.

From what I heard 1150 is new and they say it’s not going to be stable for a while.
I see no reason to upgrade my computer for a few years.I don’t keep up with the times and I don’t see the need to play the newest games the minute they come out. If I ever play them I will play them in a year or two after release.
About the SDD. I’m going to buy a mechanical drive. Maybe I will buy SDD later to use as a scratch disk for PS.

Another reason to buy newer components. Don’t know who “they” is but there are no stability issues with haswell cpu’s. Unless “they” are opposed to lowering their electric bills.
Answer #7
CPU: $119 Intel Core i3-3220 Dual-Core Processor 3.3 Ghz 3 MB Cache LGA 1155 $147 Intel Core i3-3250 Processor (3M Cache, 3.50 GHz)
Dual core one You are a spending a lot of money and getting dual core one.Get a quad core one it will help you and your GPU
Your Budget is small so dont buy SSD(you wont see any huge difference)
No Adata Ram .Buy Gskill or Kingston or corsair (not over than 1600mhz and a minimum of 4GB)
Power supply is the important part of the system so you should get a good rated one go for seasonic one(Seasonic ECO 500 500 Watts PSU)

Thanks That PSU is out of stock in local shops tho..
Answer #9
perfect mate .but one question what GPU Do You Have.some GPU’s may Require Higher watts
but it would have been more better if PSU is a good one(Go for Seasonic SS400BT PSU)
Answer #10
u’ll be much better of with the i5 3350P, which is a couple bucks cheaper and.. faster. Don’t ask why, it’s Intels’ pricing, but you can see the one i proposed is a much popular choice at this price point. secondly, people are totally wrong here about the ssd. an ssd is the BIGGEST change you can make to your pc, right now the cheapest of the Intel’s dual core line (g1610, no longer i know, replaced by the haswell whatever model) gets u already satysfying system performance and the next thing that improves the speed is an ssd drive. ram you can always add more if you feel you need more (and unless you have the need to browse with 50 open tabs.. you probably DON’T!). i can’t tell whether that psu requries replacing because you didn’t state your gpu, but otherwise it’s fine, just replace the hdd with a newer sata3 since you picked a mobo with sata3 on it (they cost the same).
Answer #11
if you want good board and processor and want to spend good amount of money go with intel, but want to save some money and still have something good get amd quad core, their are a couple of them that are very cheap and mobos are cheap to.
GIGABYTE GA-78LMT-S2 AM3+ AMD 760G Micro ATX AMD Motherboard 49.99
AMD FX-4100 Zambezi 3.6GHz (3.8GHz Turbo) Socket AM3+ 95W Quad-Core Desktop Processor FD4100WMGUSBX 99.99
you can use the rest for this board and processor.

I need intel because my priority is not gaming but to use Photoshop ect.
I just changed the hdd with sata III one and changed 400W with 500W( they cost about the same) ,added “Dual Channel DDR3 memory” instead of single one. I just checked the mobo page to see if those memory were tested and find out it is.
Any other suggestions?

Do you think ZALMAN ZM500-LE 500W ATX POWER SUPPLY 12 CM FAN is good enough? is it expensive? I’m planning to buy graphics card later(and use onboard instead) because I don’t have enough budget…but I will buy it as soon as I can so feel free to suggest some cards with economy/performance wise.
I hope this will not turn out to be a frankenbuild because I have no experience. I’m also worried that I may fuc* this up when joining the parts together. I did change old hardware before but building it from scratch…well it’s exciting! but also stressful for me
Thanks for all the comments so far! very helpful…

,You Got a Good Processor,You Can Play all Games in Low/medium settings.so Buy The GPU later(Whenever you got the budget).Buy a PSU of small amount (300W-400W) and a good one and at a decent price sufficient for your specs just like a temporary one because you dont know which GPU You may Buy In the Future and you can later buy a perfect PSU with Your Desired GPU.Dont Buy PSU’s From Some Local Companies .Buy it from some good companies like seasonic, corsair, cooler master etc

you dont need intel to use photoshop man you can use either. and people that say SSD wont make a difference in speed is very very wrong. SSD is not a hard drive, SSD is pure chip memory so their is no mechanical slowing it down. you can say its one big flash drive, so the speed is much much faster. get a SSD and if you have a hard drive lying around that has 7200rpm check them out both you will notice SSD is much faster then HD. well your still going with dual core, i think for that price a quad core is more worth it especially for photoshop, if your going to do some heavy stuff then quad is the way to go. but other then that your good.

I changed it to quad core now.
I get your point about SSD but they are way over my budget. I know 500 gb HDD and 8g ram is not much but that’s it for my low budget.
I’m still very confused on CPU because there are different opinions about it. Do you think I should drop intel to buy cheaper Amd? Even if I go with Amd I don’t think I can add more HDD space and 16GB of RAM with this budget. What is your opinion?
I’m already over my budget with the current setup by the way.
Answer #18
so you are deciding between AMD and intel.if you buy FX4100 an equivalent of your old i3 processor selection.what would you do with the remaining money,if you buy buy an SSD,dont you think a quad core processor would be good for encoding rather than a dual core .even quad proxessor is good.for gaming and your upcoming GPU.stick with your specs
