Overall Bad Performance

July 26th, 2016

Ever since I built my second gaming rig it has had poor overall performance in games and applications that my old pc ran even up to two times better. Everything is less than 3 months old.
Specs:
Q6600 at 2.4GHz
evga 9800gtx+ stock
4gb DDR2 800MHz
evga 750i ftw
160gb western digital
Vista Ultimate 32bit

Answer #1
Maybe you have a virus.
or some of the parts are half faulty.
Answer #2
Think it is more towards the faulty part side because I have recently reformatted and run scans often.
Answer #3
32bit is the first error i see.. also what resolution are you playing your games at? what games do you play?
a/v software? anything runnign while gaming?
Answer #4
wat about the temperature? make sure the processor and GFX card are working at optimum temperature..
Answer #5
Well depends what games you are playing and at what settings. Only because you have good specs it dont mean you can run everything at max. What you mean your older computer ran things better what were its specs was it a different OS? Vista is slower than XP. I would suggest you get XP or Windows 7. Vista is a goner after this year it will be nothing but memories, horrible memories.
So what apps you got running on background? You got any heavy antiviruses? You tweak your services? Disabled Aero Gui, disable UAC, and ye. Do disk defragment, make sure your HDD runs at fast speeds if its at 5400RPM expect slow speeds.
Answer #6

I have nortons 2008.

Temps seem to be fine motherboard is around 40 and same with the cpu and the gpu is around 50.
I am currently downloading a vista 64bit and if that is not any better I will try xp and windows 7 and so on until I determine the problem.
Answer #9
i would run a scan on your system with malwarebytes and see what comes up, also try the yamisoft vista manager for tweaking out vista to get your maximum performance out of your system.
as far as your old system, what res. did you play games at and what games
do some benchmarking with your card and compare it to the online marks, if they match its not your system, but what you have, if they dont match up.. then you need to start worrying
