Answer #1
or is a there a VERY HIGH risk of getting caught?
Yes there is.
Install Linux on it or Windows 7 to avoid a major screw up.
Answer #2
The only time you might get caught is when your customers try to upgrade windows/reinstall windows.
Answer #3
Dude do not build a computer and install a pirated version of Windows XP.
There is a risk that you will be caught and then all this legal dilemma will begin.
Answer #4
aww, dang.. okay. ill just install an OEM version of vista/XP and have it as trial yeah??
Answer #5
Well if you own a computer shop or something like that then NO mate, if you just build it then sell it to some random person/friend then i doubt they will give 2 ****.
sell it at a cofee shop, not at your address. dont have them come to your house to buy it.
Answer #6
Well, if you havn’t told them that you are installing an OS on their ask them if they want one first, if they do charge extra (make sure they know how much extra) and install a full legit copy.
Answer #7
Just install a corporate version. I doubt that would be a problem.
Answer #8
Just install a corporate version. I doubt that would be a problem.
Just a few months ago all the pirated corporate editions died. All at once. The once valid keys are now blacklisted. The only way out these days is with a WGA patcher and these can be picked up VERY EASILY and even a simple Windows update could screw you over.
Answer #9
I doubt you have any customers or anything like a proper business.
I guess you mess about with computers for mates. That makes it OK to stick any OS on.
Answer #10
the old saying “if you cant do the time dont do the crime ” comes to mind dealers big and small are frequently done my ms over illegal os and you can make more by poviding legal os so thtas the way I would go
Answer #11
You could always sell a computer with a linux distro such as Ubuntu.
Answer #12
so OEM trial installation XP/Vista is the best legal way to go if i wanted to install windows?
Answer #13
haha very stupid idea of putting a pirated OS on a computer your going to sell. You are blatantly going to get caught. Just put any linux distribution on it or BUY a copy of windows. Then they can choose what to do next.
