Xbox 360 Hard Drive not recognised…

January 26th, 2020

Hi guys,
I got an X Box 360 arcade for Christmas which does not have a hard drive included.
I thought this would be fine as I could just connect an external one up. So I got an 80gb hard drive that I had lying around and fitted it into the X box hard drive slot on the top. The X box failed to recognise the hard drive and when I removed it, the X Box restarted itself.
Then after some more research I found that X box only accepts Fat32 hard drives, so I converted my NTFS hard drive to Fat32. I still get the same results.
Has any one got any ideas?
cheers

Did you use a 2.5″ SATA laptop drive. Because their the only one’s that work with the xbox 360

If you are trying to use the external drive as a replacement for the xbox drive it won’t work….You can use the external drive for streaming movies…Pictures and so on…I got one too…Hooked my old xbox drive to it and it works fine..

Really? I was looking for some sort of information like that but couldn’t find anything. I’ll have to check when I get home, it probably isn’t.
