External hard drive for xbox 360

September 30th, 2020

Is it possible to use my external hard drive with usb 2.0 as a hard drive for my xbox 360?
Answer #1
Yeah it’s possible. But you gotta format/convert it to FAT32.
Answer #2
so when it says the game needs to update it will update onto the harddrive?
Answer #3
No I don’t think so. I don’t own an Xbox but I’ve read that you can’t even save your games on an external hard drive. So you can just use it to keep the internal HDD free for updates & such. external for whatever you want.
EDIT –
you can’t save games on it but you can transfer saves data to it.

True, this sucks for files over 3GB.

Grr, because the hard drives are so expensive. I have had my xbox for 1 day and my memory card (356mb) is full already.
Answer #6
i thicnk its not possibly unless u can change the Xbox OS in someway that will recognise your HDD as the secondary system partition
Answer #7
You can get HDDs for reasonably cheap on Craigslist.
20GB HDDs routinely sell for $20-$30.
