Windows Desktop Gadgets stopped working

August 5th, 2016

Hello guys,
I installed a gadget which turned out to be bad (maybe only Vista compatible). Since I installed the bad gadget I’m not able to run any of my gadgets at all, I can’t even uninstall it.

How can I remove a gadget manually?
Do you have any ideas?
Actually I’m using my best friend’s computer so I would need your help urgently!
– System restore is disabled.
– Not possible to remove it with Your Uninstaller 2010.
Thanks a lot in advance

boot into safe mode, find the file path, delete the folder. after that i’m pretty sure you can run REGEDIT in safe mode.. so go to start>run>type regedit>go to hkeycurrentuser>find the folder name of the file>delete the folder. now go to hkeylocalmachine>do the same thing as above.
reboot to normal. and it should be gone.

Thanks mate for your reply!
What should I delete? Where is it? Where are the gadgets installed?
PS. Is there anyway to restore (reinstall) Windows Desktop Gadgets (sidebar?)?

sorry for the late reply… go to Task Manager ctrl+alt+dlt and find the process under the processes tab. right click it and go to file location. once you found it, do what i said in safe mode.
