Which file systems will the ps3 recognise on external hdds

I want to play my movies on my ps3 but the file sizes far exceed 4gb+ does the ps3 recognise any other file system or is there any workaround? thanks
btw my ps3 is not jailbroken

it only reads fat32 the only work around i know of is to rip your movies again so they are smaller or just download ps3 media server and stream them from your computer to the ps3 thats what i do just connect your ext hdd to computer set media server to allow the hdd to be read an away to go or if you dnt want to make the files smaller split them into 2 halfs

Ok thanks il try out the media centre thing the reason i wanted to do it was because my laptop has a severe overheating problem but if i have to keep that on i might as well just use the laptop thanks for your replyI
