Vista and DirectX 11

January 25th, 2020

So I’m having one heck of a time trying to uninstall DirectX 11 from Vista Ultimate 64bit. All the DX10 downloads I’ve found say that it’s not going to install DX10 because there’s an equal or newer version already installed….

Any of you guys know how to uninstall DX11 from Vista?

Where this versions of DX11 and DX10 from Microsoft website? If all fails just reformat, DX10 is built into Vista as far as i know and there is no download for it.
Also it depends on your gfx card. Like I have Vista and Windows 7. I use DX9 because thats all my gfx card supports.
Answer #2
Would a reinstallation of SP2 do it?
Answer #3
SP2 for Vista is what install DX11. But even if it installs DX11 it wont use it unless its supported by gfx card. Like i mention i have Windows 7 and that OS comes with DX11 but my gfx card only supports DX9 so thats what it uses.

The reason I bring this up, is because my games aren’t running DX10 like they’re supposed to…
Or maybe I’m just doing it wrong? But I right click the game application and look for “Run in DirectX10” but the option isn’t there to click.

All the games will run in dx11 this is backwards compatible to run on dx10 and dx9 hardware. There is no problem.
