what kind of bug are you having, which symptoms exactly ?
Which version of the UBCD are you using ?
Answer #2
Well… My laptop is giving me a black screen just after the loading screen with the “HP” logo. It is the third time it happens. Let me explain it better.
– FIRST TIME :
I turn on my PC and after the loading at startup, I have an infinite black screen, so, I shut down the pc by letting my finger on the power button. I have done it a few times until the automatic repair comes and tells me that the problem has not been solved (two choices: “restore” or “cancel”). So i choose restore. what I do once and plant. So i just do it again but at an earlier date and it works. The day before it happens, i remembered having installed applocale with a compatibility setting (since without it did not work) and uninstalled several useless program from my pc. Besides, I had installed applocale then I had uninstalled because it does not work properly^^.
– SECOND TIME :
same problem except that after the automatic repair gave nothing (like last time) and I clicked on restore (as usual two choices: “cancel” or “restore”), the screen went black and do not display the blue screen with the Restore window. So i searched for a solution on the internet and found that if i press “Delete” at startup it directly redirect me to restoration service… and it worked. So I restored at the same date as the first time (2010 Office installation, it is a crack version I dl on the site). Again it worked and I was happy.
– THIRD TIME (a few days ago):
I shut down the pc and I notice that the light emitting diodes do not go out, so, I closed letting my finger pressed the power button. I go back on the computer a few hours later and I have the same problem as last time except when I press delete, it makes me a strange noise (a kind of BIIIIIIIIIIIP and the longer i let my finger, the higher this ******* noise continues) and it does not take me to the restoration screen. I tried safe mode
by pushing like crazy several times in a row on “Shift + F8” and it does nothing. T_T
– USEFUL INFORMATIONS :
Windows 8 64bits (buy the laptop whit it).
Something strange is that the pc always told me that i had to active windows but when I went into the control pa, it told me that it was already done.
I have an UEFI bios (i guess) (let me know i you want a screen).
I use the last version of ubcd.
I have done a memtest86 with ubcd. No errors for something like an hour.

in “Factory installed OS” there is written non Windows (strange ?). You can’t see it of course.
EDIT : sorry bad english but i do my best. I will certainly edit my post to make it more readable.
EDIT : what do you think about booting from a usb stick with windows (already download W8 orion) and try a restoration ? does it work to make a restoration from the usb stick ?

Is this noise you are getting coming from the speakers?
Or is it maybe some noise that is coming from the hard drive…That could mean it is faulty..
Answer #4
I guess it is from the speakers. But if it is from the hard drive… then a test would prove it. That’s why i want to do one or even two and more maybe. But sure now that you talk about it i’m not really sure of the origin. i have to listen to it more carefully. I’ll try again tomorrow. Now i’ m just sleeping :p
Answer #5
I have made a suface test (no remap) with vivard and no errors. Still the cpu test…

Answer #6
allright … I do get the idea now
well, perform the following steps :
1.) open the HDD cover (use a screwdriver … just saying … seen a lot of weird things happening in my days 2.) take out the HDD and get the model 3.) check the verndor’s name on the UBCD , if you cannot find it, go to the vendord’s website and download their HDD check tool. You might need to search a bit, if you cant find it, reply with the model and make of the HDD and ill see what I can dig up
4.) run the check
additional Q’s :
what’s the “felt” temperature of the laptop ? i.e. normal, hot, hotter, bloody hot, that hot that you could grill a steak on it , and so on … as for windows and USB :
worth a try, if you can get with a USB or CD into windows, you can attempt a restore / repair.
Would recommend the following tho :
take away as many parts as you can (typically HDD + CD / DVD ROM) clean the Laptop with a vacuum cleaner , suck all the dust out, re-assemble, run the HDD test , also check for the temperature and once done, get a Linux live cd or something and just let the laptop run for a bit to see if it’s stable or not.
If it runs stable : HDD MAY have a problem , if it does not run stable : … well, something else is amiss.
Do you still have warranty ?
Answer #7
Hi,
i can’t open the HDD cover cause there is no such a thing in my pc (prima facie). I still have warranty from HP but first i will try live cd (Malekal live cd) with antivirus test (roguekiller, OTLP, Malwarebytes) and then recover my data. And then going to the shop ans use my warranty. what other live cd are good for that ? cause i want also a lot of other AV to make some test.
