Windows Live Movie Maker black screen :(

I have k-lite mega codec pack installed and have tried many movie types but still have the same problem.
I’ve tried everything i can think of (installing windows codecs, uninstalling different codecs etc) to no avail.
I need Live Movie Maker for work so this is very frustrating for me, can anyone help me? Thank you!!
When i try to use WLMM on my Windows 7 laptop, I get a black screen but the audio plays.

Windows movie maker only recognizes some video format, and while some may play the audio, the video format might not supported. Here is list of formats supported by windows live movie maker: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows-live/movie-maker-file-types-faq
I believe this might be due to some missing or incorrect codecs installed in your computer. Audio and video require codecs to play the file and it�s important to have the right codecs installed or updated in your PC.
Media info will be able to identify any issues with missing or faulty codecs and whether it�s already installed in your computer or not. You can get it on this link:http://mediainfo.sourceforge.net/en
Note: If you can’t find the codec, you need you may convert the video to WMV and then import it in to Windows Live Movie Maker. You may download any third party software to convert your video.
