Transfer OEM Windows to a new machine

January 26th, 2020

Hello,
I have a really ~ Lovely ~ PC with win8 upgraded to 10. it is a legit oem licence and i am really happy with it. i know you can activate windows 7 with a took.
now i figured the same method may or may not work for windows 10 but i wonder if maybe MS may change their system to make it harder to keep your OS activated and receive upgrades.
so now i want to buy a new pc but i dont want to buy windows10. there are still 2 months left to upgrade 8 to 10. but i have no serials or anything, for neither win8 nor 10.
from what i understand windows 10 does not have a serial. i retrieved one but it seems to be a generic one and is no good to me.
my question is:
1) can i retrieve my oem windows 8 key and use any kind of windows8 iso from the internet to install it it on a new pc
2) can i upgrade that windows 8 on a 2nd pc to windows 10
3) if no, what is the easiest way to obtain a lasting activated windows 10.

It depends Do both the old and new pc have the same edition of windows (7 pro and 10 pro or 7 home and 10 standard) If so just image the disk and it will activate without issue online.
If the new pc is custom built it wont work.

i have no windows medium here. only a pc that runs 10 (upgraded from 8) a laptop with vista and a broken machine using a pirated/activated 7.
the new pc is not gonna have any windows with it.
my goal is to run 10 on the new computer, ideally utilizing my legit 8>10 oem licence. but it seems difficult. most sources on the internet say it is illegal but not much information on whether or not it is technically possible.
so you say it is not possible with an entirely new machine w/o any windows. so i can i install a pirated windows 7, activate it and then turn it into an activated windows10?

If the Windows on your old computer is an OEM or DSP version then it is married to the motherboard and can’t be installed on a new computer. If it was a retail version (you have a win8 key) then if you uninstall it off the old computer, and then you can legally install it on your new computer. Your second option to go with would be install windows 8 again and give them a ring, and they may or may not activate it on your new machine for you. (They did this for myself, when Win 10 was first released, but I had a retail key off win 7).
Third option would be if you still have 2 months to upgrade for free here is a link to Win 7 for 35$US.. You would have to have your new comp to install in onto by then, because the key is tied to the mobo..

If you used the Windows 8 key on a PC that you upgraded to Windows 10, then no you cannot use the key anymore. You can download a Windows 8 ISO file and use a loader or activator to activate Windows 8 and then do the upgrade. You will get a legit Windows 10 key. Make sure after you upgrade to Windows 10, you use a key finder like Produkey by NirSoft to get your legitimate product key. It works perfectly on Windows 10.

OEM or genuine, you have to call MS, their self input codes never worked for me. from what i understand windows 10 does not have a serial. BS.

I installed a legit Win 7 on my custom gaming PC using a key from a dead Toshiba laptop then did the upgrade to 10 no problems. Go to your local PC repairer or pawn shop and get a dead machine for a few $ and you got yourself a cheap legit key.
Answer #7
^That or just buy a Windows 7/8 key AND then upgrade to 10.
You can get cheap 7/8 keys or so I hear, the latest release of 10 1550 or something you can use your 7 key and install 10 that way.
Don’t quote me on that, guys.

Here is how I went from a legit Windows 7 Home Premium to a legit Windows 10 Pro:
I downloaded a couple of Windows Anytime Upgrade keygens and found one that worked to use the Windows Anytime Upgrade link in Windows 7 to get the Ultimate version. Once it updated, I still need to activate the Ultimate version. I used Dazloader for that.
Then I used the Microsoft Media Creation Tool to do my update to Windows 10 Pro.
