Thinking about buying a new gfx card
August 6th, 2016
Instead of a 9800GT go for a GTS250, only like 10-20 dearer.
If the maximum you can spend is $150, why not spend all $150? This GTS 250 has a 738mhz core clock, and 2200mhz memory clock. It also has 512mb of VRAM.

Great guys. Btw gts 250 is really good. Maybe i can buy it. Waiting for more opinions guys
for $150 i would get the ATI 5770, just my opinion.
So you ether got a ATI 5770 or Nvidia 250. What are your current specs?
is correct. My personal preference would be the ATI 5770 as it has directx11 and Nvidia 250 doesn’t. In the near future games will be using DX11 and if you want to use it, you’ll have to buy another card if you buy an Nividia 250.

Well…I have gigabyte GA-8I945P-G , 2 gb ram and 2.8 Pentium D. And i think i wont need dx11 like two or three years. İ think i will stick with gts 250.
go for the 5770
Erm, as far as I know, the 4870HD performs at a higher level than the GTS 250. The Radeon HD 4850 actually competes with the GTS 250, and, the 4870 with the GTX 260 (192 SP Edition). So, unless you are totally against ATI/AMD, I think you should check out the 4870

Thats why i thought about 4870. 5770 is a little expensive for me. So here is two choices hd4870 or gts250??
Considering In Game Performance, definitely HD 4870. Just Google up “4870 HD vs GTS 250” and you will see the huge performance difference between the two. As I said before, The 4850 competes with the GTS 250. Furthermore, from your list, if you can afford all 3, the 9800 GTX+ is definitely removed because the GTS 250 is essentially a rebadged 9800 GTX+ with slight mods.

If i buy 9800 gtx i will buy 2 gb ram with it. But 4870 have a great cooling system and perfonmance and cheaper than gts 250. Maybe i can force my parents to buy a 2 gb ram with it too.
I like Nvidia and I’m using it, so I recommend you 9800gt
