Streaming a mp3 file….does it break copyright law?..help!

does streaming a file….not giving its download link …..is against copyright law…
i’ve a site and wanted to give users a portal to listen music…….can i do it on my site…or i have to get some rights on that file…?
please note i’m not going to give any download links!!

I need that you need to have the rights to play it. See on the wadio site what they have:

imeem is great highquality u can upload their or just find the song u want.

yes it is. theoreticaly, if you are playing a CD in your car loud enough for other people to hear it (outside the car) technicaly you are violating the owners copyright.
dsitributing any copyrighted work in any form (including broadcasting it), without the owners consent is illigel
