speed up xp

i have noticed on my pc wheni first turn it on it runs great but if i keep it on for lets say 2 or 3 days it starts getting really laggy is there any way to speed it up other then buying more ram and a new cpu?

list your specs try defragging your harddrive

xp sucks now. it gets stuck for me too often. never happens in win7.

If your still running the ancient OS of Windows XP, either
1. Change straight away to Windows 7
or
2. Try using Utility Programs, such as Windows XP Manager to clean your PC and tweak settings to speed up startup, program startup, and overal performance.

occasionally defragm your hard disk once a week and uses the program which optimize your system like Glary Utilities.

How much RAM have you got? If you have something like 512MB-1GB then use TinyXP, or you can disable start up programs use CCleaner to run registry and delete unnecessary files
