[SOLVED]If i download vista with SP2, will my old serial work?

Hey, i have got an old vista DVD with a legitimate serial key, but unfortunately my copy of vista on dvd does not have any service pack.
I have installed vista, and right now windows is being its usual old, Unreliable self and isn’t letting me install the 1st service pack without a gruesome battle.
So, can i download windows vista with service pack 1 and 2 pre-installed, and still use my legitimate serial key, providing that i download the same package, which in my case is “home premium”. ?
