[SOLVED]Having trouble connecting to the forum

August 25th, 2013

Im having some trouble connecting to the forums.
I’ve tried the hostfix and it didn’t work for me. And yes i’ve done it right.
The website works fine for anyone else on my home network. It must be something blocking it. But im having trouble finding what it is.
I have Windows Secruty Essentials and Malwarebytes.
I’ve tried disabling windows firewall but that wasn’t it either.
Thought malwarebytes did update around the time it started not working.
Any help is appericiated

Sigh. I have already told you I can fix this for you. You know where to find you.
You can connect with the IP, and not the domain name. It’s a DNS issue. If your having troubles with host fix, just try using OpenDNS. I am using OpenDNS and connecting just fine with out hostfix.

Using openDNS or google DNS doesn’t work.

You haven’t tolled me how you can fix it for me? What be letting you do it by teamviewer? If you have some insight please tell me.
EDIT Solved
Turns out that, when i first EDITED the hosts file the other day, I used a wrong ip adredess. Then when i got the right Ip address i went Save As, and saved the hosts file to a .txt file which does nothing. So every time i went to change it again, i was only changing it for the .txt file and not the real hostfile.
