[SOLVED]Connecting to Wireless internet

Today I went to my friends house, they have wireless internet connection and I wasn’t being able to connect, so I reset the modem/router, and then I guess it reset everything, but it still has problems. Info:
-Verizon = ISP
-DSL connection to a router/modem -Modem/Router is from a company called Westell -It says it’s ‘connected’ but it wont let me go on the internet when I go into Internet Explorer, ex: www.blahblahblah.com it wont let me open it.
I need help, ASAP thank you.

so your comp/laptop has a wireless adapter?

If the wireless connection is ‘connected’, then you may have to run the ‘Internet Connection Wizard’ to tell Windows which method it uses to connect to the Net.
Otherwise, if you’re running a Firewall, you may have to allow access via Wireless.

If you reset the router it will have lost all log in details to the dsl server (unless you put it in again) but can your friend still sccess everything on their ps ??

Think I got it, same here, You need to open up the an internet page from that company, with your router`s data in it. Then you need to add the MAC adress there, from the wireless device you got. You should plug in , connect with the wireless device, and check if the mac adress is the same as given on the device.
Then you must add the mac-adress in the router`s data. You might also want to set a certain IP the computer will use for connecting to the router.
