[solved]Can read, but cant burn?

June 18th, 2021

Hello everyone,
I cant burn anything.
When i use nero, it finishes burning properly, does not give an error, ejects the disc after the usual process.
However, the disc seems to be empty when i try to open it, and it cant be burned again.
When i use imgburn, the burning process does not start. The button starting the process is greyed out and it says “Device Not Ready (Medium Not Present)”.
On the other hand, it does not have any problem in reading other disks, works properly.
it used to burn everything before i format the drive and re install everything.
i searched the net and could not find a proper solution, since im not good at searching lol.
Any ideas other than buying a new drive?
Thanks

My lg writer after a few months of perfect use did something similar but it turned out to be only on the one make of disc (same as id used for months) a change of brand resolved it so I think the blanks had changed in manufacture rather than the drive try other brands of discs
Answer #2
so, is it a disc brand problem?
a friend of mine claims its a software/driver problem, another says i should buy a new drive.

How old is it?
How often do you use it?
How many disk’s did you burn with it?
What is it’s write speed?
Did you flash the DVD burner’s firmware?
