[Solved]Booting problem

August 1st, 2016

Guys i have 2 hard drives in my pc,one is 320gb which is my system(win7) and the other 160gb.so i wanted to install new hard drive and remove the old one 160gb but when i take it out of pc my windows won’t start it says bootmgr is missing

So is it possible that win7 boot manager is located at this hard drive even if its not system drive?
Can i change boot manager so that i can remove that drive without formating my pc ?

Answer #1
Possibly that HD was set as primary in the bios and the bootloader is in that drive..
You can remove the drive..Boot with your Windows install DVD and do a repair..
That should restore the bootloader..
Answer #2
and do a repair..
and do a startup repair.. or with both drives in use EasyBCD to install the boot mgr to the 320gb drive
with both drives in can you do a screenshot of your of your “windows disk mgt” window with descriptions showing completely

After installing the new drive the bios might of messed up the drive order..
Try going into the bios and change the order of the drive..
Put one at the time as the first drive and boot..Until it works..
