It’s probably the Windows 8.

Not at all!!
An OS problem cannot possibly make the HDD freeze on post (BIOS info screen),Only a bad HDD can do that.

Explain in detail what is going on. Can we get specific details?
What exactly do you mean by “doesnt go farther then bios”.
I guess what you mean by that is the computer POST just fine and allows you to enter setup and change BIOS configuration?
If that is the case, then your motherboard, ram, and processor appear to be working.
Roberto400 replied: Only a bad HDD can do that.
As Roberto already said, check the HDD cable, as well as the cable to the optical. If all the cables are connected properly, and known good, try a different HDD.
Something along these lines is probably your problem.
Worst case scenario your SATA/IDE controller on the motherboard is going out.

You really should read this post more carefully; the OP stated his problem is solved.
In addition, Roberto did not state to check the HDD cable, as well as the cable to the optical.
You can’t seem to comprehend what you read and your putting words in others mouths.

True.

When? He only stated the following:

Not sure I’d call that solved as he’d need to replace the HDD for that.
Answer #8
The OP said it was solved, he disconnected his NAS…

Appears to me that he followed Pierre’s advice and it solved the problem.
Maybe the OP can clear that for all of us.

So the post was solved at my post, and you guys made 5 post after it? Seems like yall should have ignored my stupid post. But apparently you needed to make your self feel bigger by talking down on someone, pathetic, lol.
Bottom line, I always recommend people add [Solved] to the title to avoid any confusion.
PS: Not feeling well today.

I read between the lines, and from the original post, it looks like Windows 8 was trying to boot from the NAS. I may be wrong though. But we can wait for the OP to reply again to clarify.
I do wish people who don’t have a clue about beta OS’s (eg. basically what Windows 8 is) , installing it as their main OS rather than running it in a multi-boot situation, or virtually.

Not all people seem to follow your recommendation.
Most would prefer to recommend to read the post more carefully.

As for personal attacks, no offense was made or implied.
Perhaps you are just feeling a little defensive since you are sick.
Answer #14
It’s solved!
Disconnecting the HDD was the solver
