[SOLVED] BIOS Problem

August 19th, 2013

Recently got a new PC. Installed windows and everything was running fine. Added my new graphics card (ATI Radeon 6850). The graphics card wasn’t showing up so I was messing with the BIOS, basically. Changed the ‘Graphics Adapter Priority’ setting to put the PCI first (“PCI-…”).
Restarted the PC and it booted without displaying anything. Tried connecting my monitor via the graphics card and also the motherboard and got no signal. I then removed my graphics card hoping that it would return to onboard graphics, which had previously been working. It didn’t.
I tried to launch safemode to see if that automatically switched to onboard graphics but that was also unsuccesful.
Is there any other way to reset the BIOS to default settings or just to reverse my mistake?
I don’t really want to use the CMOS jumper on the board since I’ve never done it before and don’t want to do any more damage than I already have.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Just pop out the CMOS battery, give it a few seconds, and put it back in.

I forgot that we should lay it out step by step for these guys.
OP: make sure your computer isn’t getting juice–then hold the power button to discharge any stored power. Pop the battery out, wait 10 seconds, put it back in, and you’ll be back to stock.

Yeah that fixed it. Was just having some bad luck with it, I guess.
Thanks guys
