Setting up static IP, is not working anymore… I need RC

August 5th, 2016

Hello,
I was trying to set up my ip to static IP, I used to do it (11 days last time set) I tried a lot of things before coming here, I need someone to Remote Control my PC in order to set up my IP.
May be useful info: I have windows 7, I live in Canada my modem is 2wire its a modem with an integrated router. I use wamp server.
Problem: Even if I port forward, and all I can’t get people to access my server (my ip).
RC = Remote Control.
I got teamviewer.

Answer #1
Does your ISP provide you with a static IP Addrr? You can configure your Dyn IP to use with your server, however it will change when your modem/router restart or your IP lease expires.
Answer #2
You need a static IP fro your ISP, you cannot just make it yourself.
But anyway, Teamviewer does not care about static or dynamic IP, it works through anything as long as there is internet access.
Answer #3
Dude, yes we can do it yourself. I used to host few days a go and people could connect to me…
Answer #4
Probably you just set the same IP as you would have got assigned by the DHCP, and now it has changed, so you cannot use that IP anymore.
Explanation:
If your ISP automatically assigns you let’s say 100.110.120.130, you can then manually enter this address for your connection, and it will work as long as the DHCP still has the info that is your IP. But, when the DHCP would assign you another IP, let’s say 100.110.120.140, and you still try to use the old IP 100.110.120.130, it won’t work, because the DHCP has assigned it to someone else.
