Restoring after upgrade to windows 7
January 21st, 2020
I did like windows 7 alot but i had upgrade it to the home prem version
i want to restore back to vista and upgrade to the win7 ultimate.
everytime i try to restart my system and press F11 , it doesnt do anything.
i wanted to restore back to vista and then upgrade again to have a clean copy.
You can’t, best just to do clean install to Win 7 Ultimate, but Ultimate version not very different…
You have to boot from disc.
dammit im done for..
i killed my computer..
what do u mean by clean install?
help please.
first off, you should’ve created your recovery/restore disk before starting this project, so, you would have a way back.
now, you have 2 options that I know of….1) contact place where you bought pc and order a recovery/restore disk, or 2)do as suggested and boot from win7 ultimate dvd and perform an advanced install and reformat, install win7 ultimate from scratch….I suggest backing up your files before doing either.
On vista you were able to upgrade from home or busness or whatever to ultiate, isnt it the same on 7? :S

ya that was a dumb move for me..
so when the setup starts i go to Windows Ultimate>Custom Install>and then format my disk?
yes, but, make sure you have backed up all the files you want to keep.
1st rule of safe data storage (beside having anti viro etc.): have 2 partitions, 1 for system and only it and 2 one for everything else so even when ur system fails u still have other partition untouched with all data. I personally do not trust sytem upgrades coz they usually mess a lot of things, best way is to backup all data u care for, format ur hdd and install new system from nothing just like 1st time. Can’t argue coz don’t rly know bout Win7 or Vista but with WinXP the Professional version was far more better and advanced then for exmple Home version.
