resolution options, a sudden change !

yesterday i was able to change my resolution setting to anyting i want to, today i checked on it and here`s what i`ve found !
all i can find is 3 options .. the list used to go on up !
i have this game ” Singularity ” which work with half the screen out because my screen is kinda old, but when i change the resolution to a higher option, which as i can remember was 12xx x 768 or smthin like that, i was able to play with the whole screen intact !
suddenly today i cant find those options anymore … where did they go ?

a friend of mine told me to the same thing, i tried but nothing happened !
the weirdest thing is this whole thing happened out of now where.
no new hardware or software, my updates are set to OFF, pretty much shutting down the pc and opening it the next day, thats what i did !
