Recommend Me a Wirelss Router

August 6th, 2016

Had a netgear dual band router that recently died due to a battle with a lightning storm, unit got zapped and wont power on now. looking for a dual band unit, doesn’t have to be AC type. Don’t even care about usb ports, do care about a reliable unit.
Been looking at the Linksys WRT1900AC, but it’s expensive. Looking to spend up to $150.00 US
Thanks in advance.

Although i love linksys (subdivision of cisco), from what i can find on that router its a pain to use
– can’t handle the heat
– very hard to configure
– lousy range
– barely reaches half advertised speed
– cost
i’m using the Linksys EA6500, very easy to use, comes with an android app for easy router configuration changes on mobile too, can do everything that WRT can and at half the price.

TP LINK sucks here
Linksys E1200 Monitor N300 Wireless-N Router
its under budget http://www.cnet.com/products/linksys-e1200-monitor-n300-wireless-n-router/

Linksys, Cisco son. The family has a very good pedigree. For normal uses you will not see differences but under heavy use and for advanced functions, Linksys will outperform the TP LINK
