Can I connect 2 wireless router in a modem+router setup?

May 9th, 2021

Hi, currently, i have a modem+router setup provided by the ISP. In it, a Belkin N+ Wireless Router is connected. I am using the N+ as an access point and both the access point and the modem+router setup has their own SSIDs. I can turn off the Wireless in the modem+router and leave the N+ still as an access point. Now, I want to add another Wireless router, say an ASUS RT-AC66U or something like it (because i want to have 2 USB ports (for printer and another hard drive)), can i connect them normally through the ethernet ports of the modem+router? one in port 1 and the other in port 2 and will they not interfere with one another? assuming that i set both in different chans, say chan 4 and chan 8? sorry if i sound so noob in this . Thanks for those who will be helping by the way.

I would have thought it would be easier and a whole lot cheaper to use a USB hub to gain extra USB connections…
Why would you want another Wireless Router when you already have one ?

One is not enough to cover the house and some of the rooms. so.. yeah..

Should be not a problem, but there are some issues to consider.
1. There should be only one device working as a dhcp server
2. if 1. is not possible then you have to specify the ip ranges each device provides.
3. There should be only one gateway (normally the router right after/in the modem). It’s ip address have to setup in all client computers.
