Really quick and simple IDM question

August 24th, 2013

I have a cracked version of internet download manager, the 2nd newest BRD release, from like Nov. 4th or somewhere around then (from rlslog), anyway a couple days ago when i clicked IDM it asked me to make changes to my computer, sort of like firefox does at start up before an update, i disallowed and it hasnt popped up since and it still works fine.. Was this just an attempt at updating, or could they have found out I have a cracked copy or something, could it be anything to worry about?
Thanks.

I don’t think they’d ever do such a thing. Probably it was just the program trying to update… Whatever it was, it wasn’t anything that you should be worried about
But, was it your virus scanner which asked you to make changes to your pc or
was it IDM, cus, IDM doesn’t ask you to make changes to your pc when updating ?

Thanks for the reponse, i think it was windows that asked me, but I could be wrong, it might have been caused by my AV it was similar to what happens when firefox wants to update.
Something like this

Np, but, just now, I’ve upgraded my IDM and I didn’t got such a thing…
But anyhow, I wouldn’t bother to much about it

thanks again, if you could clarify one last thing maybe, as long as i didn’t allow it to make the changes it couldnt have right?
One other thing that might be relevant is when this happened i tried running idm the second my windows started, even before the little power on noise thing finished playing, although testing that didnt have the same results.
