Preventing deletion of a specific restore point

August 6th, 2013

In windows 7, is it possible to prevent windows from deleting a specific restore point?
I know that when a new restore point is created an old one is deleted. I just couldn’t find an option to prevent the deletion, but I believe there must be a way to do that, beacuse it seems too stupid to not have that option…
If anyone knows how, please help me.
Thanks

Restore is a piece of junk and should be disabled.
If you want a backup go get a cheap hdd and image your drive…

Restore Points from what I know don’t last forever, sooner or later they will disappear. Maybe allocating disk space for system restore can help though:

After some amount of searching I found this..

It says you can use CCleaner or another App mentioned to selectively remove restore points.
So if you regularly remove ones that you don’t need, there should still be room for the one, or those, that you want to keep….Not quite the ideal, but it should work.
Of course it is always best to do a image full backup when there is important stuff that you need.
