Hotfile mass deletion

January 27th, 2020

I uploaded 175 albums to hotfile. I had those for more than 20 days on there. I posted them here yesterday. Now there’s only 74 albums left. This could be because I posted them here, but I don’t think so (I use safelinking). I posted 600 other albums here in the past, never had more than 3-7 deletions/day.
I handed over my direct links to a guy though, as he wanted to use them in a young -site or something. He wanted me to post there, but I only post here, and I gave him my direct links so he did have something to work with. Could he have reported links to dmca or something? This is obviously the result of me handing over direct links to the guy.

Well, next time use safe-linking with Captcha & password, encrypt the file in a .rar with a password, and rename it to something like “pictures.rar” or “family pictures.rar” make sure it looks innocent.
Answer #2
That’s a bit extreme :S
I used safelinking with password only (I’m not gonna bother downloaders with captchas).
And what exactly does a rar with password help?
Changing the name is a good idea I guess.

To check the files (if they’re suspicious) the staff download it and check it out. So it would also help.

Okay, that’s excellent advice, thank you, but I don’t think you exactly get my point. I was just asking if it’s possible that someone reported my links. 100 links in one day, that’s impossible unless they have the direct links. It’s not easy to find the direct links that quickly if they are all safelinked (which they really were).
Thanks again for the replies, much appreciated!

Answer #5
Maybe more than one person could have reported your links.
Answer #6
I guess so. 100 files, that’s a bummer. Anyone has a better way to reupload than just uploading from home? The links are still alive at fileserve, I just like hotfile more, so I don’t wanna use filesonic or something.
Answer #7
Hmm, i think you really need to upload it again. Follow those tips that Rev0l2ti0n gave you.
Answer #8
I think I get it now. I looked at the deleted files again, and those are mainly discographies. I should make 7 safelinks for 7 albums in a discography. So in fact they only deleted 25 discographies, but together that’s 100 links.
Thanks a lot for your help.
I will upload it again like that and I’ll try to use those tips, but I don’t like a rar passwords (besides, I use zips). I will use captcha safelinks though.
Answer #9
Ur Links Are Reported By Serveral People thats Why u faced Mass Deletion !
Answer #10
Why do people report, unless they’re the artists or work for the artists it’s not their business.
Answer #11
Because they dont have anything else to do than screw others life.
Answer #12
Yep ^^. If one artist would ask me to remove the links I would delete them immediately, but it doesn’t harm them that much, people that download illegally will not buy the album because they can’t find a link, they just won’t download/buy it at all.
