Answer #17
Sorry about bumping it, but i want to order it in the next 10mins, i just need the top questions answering before i go ahead and buy it.
I mostly want to know if it all works together, do i need any extra wires/screws etc, how easy it would be to configure the jump switches/wires or whatever there called on the back of the cd drive and harddrive and if everything is a good brand. thanks
Answer #18
That all looks good. It will be a good PC
Just a tip, that mobo has onboard video, so you may have to disable that in the bios if it doesn’t switch to your 8800GT automatically. It should switch automatically though.
That mobo also has no overclocking capability just to let you know.
Answer #19
Ohh
Could you or anyone else please find me a perfect MOBO with everything i need lol, around 80.

THANKS
Answer #20
Tell me what you need. And I shall find.

Thanks really appreciated
Answer #22
ASUS P5KC AiLifestyle Series iP35 Socket 775 8 channel audio ATX Motherboard
http://www.ebuyer.com/product/132275
Very good motherboard.
No SLI unfortunately. It has ATI Crossfire though lol.
But full OC features, DDR3 ram, up to 8GB of ram
And it has the Intel P35 chipset.
Answer #23
Thanks i now added that instead
So is that everything i need?
No extra wires or anything?
and im worried about when i build it, what jumper settings to choose and how to set it all up in bios and that, because this is the 1st time im going to build a pc.
Answer #24
Yeah that’s it. That motherboard supports ATI Crossfire by the way. Which is SLI for ATI video cards.
The motherboard will come with SATA wires for your HDD. The HDD won’t come with any as it’s OEM. But you mobo will come with at least 1, most likely 2.
As per jumper settings, you only have one HDD so set it to master.
In the bios, your boot settings should be DVD drive first, then HDD. When you install the CPU be extremely careful. Do not force it in. There will be instructions in the box. READ THEM.
That’s all I can think of at the moment.
Answer #25
So im ready to order yep?
Should i buy another SATA wire just incase? and anything else i need to know when/after setting the pc up?
Also, is this a good enough PS? http://www.ebuyer.com/product/115010
thanks alot for all your help
edit: Do u just move a switch to change the jumper settings?
Answer #26
Yeah your ready to order
No you only have one HDD and I am 100% certain you will get at least one SATA cable with your mobo. Yeah that PSU will be sweet as.
If you have any other questions don’t hesitate to ask, I’m more than happy to help.
Jumper settings are changed by a little thing you move on the back off the HDD. It’s hard to explain. When you see it you will get it.
Answer #27
Thanks alot
Now orderd.
Answer #28
Cool. Enjoy your new PC
Oh just an after thought, in the future you may want to chuck in 2GB more ram
Answer #29
I would recommend a Different WD hard drive than that. The WD5000ABYS RE2 drive is faster and has a 5 year warranty. But you will need the utility to disable the TLER feature unless you use it with RAID. I have two of them, well one is an earlier model purchased just over 12 months ago and another of that model number which I purchased 2 to 3 months back.
http://www.wdc.com/en/products/Products.asp?DriveID=331
SATA hard drives don’t use jumpers, IDE hard drives do require adjusting jumpers and so will the Optical drives. I would recommend a BenQ optical drive as they are the best, that is unless you have to have DVD-Ram support.
You will also need faster memory than that if you intend overclocking that CPU like the majority do with that stepping.
Those Belkin surgemasters are not all that good and have been criticized by many people as there PC’s have still been damaged by surges even when using them. Might be worth you getting an UPS.
You should be able to find a better thermal compound than the Zalman as well.
Anti Static straps are 4.99 at Maplins, if you have one where you shop it might be worth dropping in and getting one, will save a few quid.
But if you have already ordered (what is the rush for a fairy big order??) then it’s not much help (I have only just read the second page)
