Playing .MKV’s on an iPhone

I was wondering if it were possible to play .MKVs on a iPhone without converting them to .MP4 possibly using a Jailbreak app. Thanks in advance.

It is possible. Just download buzz player app which is specially designed for iphone/ipod touch/ipad.

I don’t know you can play .MKV file format on iPhone because the codec aren’t the same, but try way and use Buzz Player application and see if that works

You can convert mp4 to small size also

(1) use mkv extract to extract the mkv it will leave u with 2 files (2) then use yamb to turn them 2 files u extracted to an mp4
should take about 5 mins for the whole proses and ther be the same size give or take 10/20 mb

doesn’t vlc player playback mkv? if not you can try to use air video server or something and stream it over wifi. this app plays back mkv great

Yep VLC player plays them. Just get VLC player for IPhone.

Sure VLC plays it, it plays almost everything. But isn’t it just easier to convert the movies to mp4, problem solved.
