*** NOTE ***
just moments before this event notification I was remembering recently an incident well a couple of months ago I was on rapidgator site and a second FULL sized window opened [which I quickly closed] but the same exact actions caused a virus from one of the open windows screaming that I had a virus on my computer and had to call a # to get removed stupidly as I was frantically trying to get window closed which wouldn’t by the “X” couldn’t get out of window at all then another popup and that’s when I saw leave page or stay on page I hit as I was drawing mouse in hand back it tagged! Task manager got it closed but after scanning and then I rebooted …WTFFFF IT BLEW OUT MY WINDOWS! No operating system found couldn’t fix it had to reinstall windows and earlier I noticed my backups of my documents locked me out can’t access it at all won’t change permissions nothing and some directories have just disappeared! So I am trying to warn yal of the dangers …man oh man ….
ALSO
THE MOOKIE VIRUS COOKIE showed up yesterday and only thing different was that it was in Chrome instead of Firefox so people if u can figure out a direction that it’s coming from would be a big help to everyone!
I am posting this along with why and maybe it’s not connected but awfully coincidentally familiar if ya ask me … be careful here in cyber space it’s getting harder to control!
AND 2 days ago The My Documents that I backed up or copied to my other drive before reinstalling windows locked me out permissions were changed and couldn’t change them at all I can’t access the directory !
…………….. all this happening with in the last couple of days ..
::::**** UPDATE UPDATE ****::::
Well I my gut feeling was RIGHT ON THE MARK today! No sooner did I post this I trying to access a document that again was held at Rapidgator.com and the SAME DAYUUUUM voice yelling at me at again now I don’t know why where it’s coming from but I noticed a quick flash out the corner of my eye after I got free if the sirens and it was the same format bunched random letters and then a view like java script … well here is one for the thinkers to figure out cuz I’m stumped!
I keep my task manager on for just these reasons for an extra precaution … and am glad I did warning comes up and I’m closing processes and they keep appearing and disappearing well I figured my desktop was history but was scanning anyway wow it booted but FROM THE LAPTOP I notice OPERA browser open and that RED FLAG bout knocked my off me @sss low and behold webroot tag’s it and named it W32UserAdded something to like that, well I hadn’t used the laptop in few weeks so how would this have crossed and where is it coming from! Anyway yal add it up 2 Different Computers one was off then 2 VIRUSES AND …1 BROWSER! Hmmmm …. Anyone who can shed some light on this matter would make me some happy I sat here crying to for over two hours … go figure!
OH BTW ….I never downloaded the file so any of yal want to got that direction …well I didn’t even get close!
IT’s FAST, COMES OUTTA NOW WHERE AND DESTROYS OPERATING SYSTEM WITH IN JUST A FEW MINUTES!
I posted this on my blog that I really need get busy with, I just thought I’d share this with yal since yal share with me!!!

There is no such a thing as the MOOKIE cookie virus. A cookie is not executable.
Why are you saying that it’s a virus? What are the proofs? What has happened?
What is the problem you are having?
Answer #2
To me it looks like you had a trojan (it does get to the PC first and THEN communicates with it’s source so it’ll explain the outgoing connection thing) and then you did something wrong, I guess. Did you reboot by using the reset button of the PC? You shouldn’t do that.

Absolutely agree with ol here, a cookie is not executable and I have not known one to call on an action.. You gotta stop smoking whatever it is you’re smoking. I only understood half of what you typed.

The obvious question is. How did you post here when ur PC is “toast” (a pun 4 )? Maybe it’s a “Wookie” virus?

it is not the cookies you should worry about or outbound connection ; all connections you make while surfing internet including at the moment you post something here , are outbound . if it was inbound then you should be really worried which means someone or something was trying to get in your pc.
did you scan with malwarebytes and remove what has been found ?
also scan with eset online scanner like the way i posted on your another topic , by ticking remove found threats.
https://www..org/viewtopic.php?p=88315027#88315027
those are the easiest solutions for you now. if they dont fix the situation , there are a few more software you can try. again if they fail , you need to do manual investigation which is a long and hard thing to do.

heya nev,
as a matter of fact did the eset online scan as suggested in earlier post and wow after 18+ hours it finished found 21 threats several were the patchers from apps i got here but there were a few trojans and a dropper and a few others fake something or other.
i do check the connections, i do like the webroot feature that displays current connections i don’t recognize one or one that shouldn’t be active i close it ….have seen the opera and google active a couple of times and maybe nothing but it shot a red flag up my spine …i’m always checking things ….that’s why i can’t figure something getting in but ….it happens.
thanks for the advice!!

it is my mistake that i forgot telling only select your main drive C while scanning with eset so it took longer than usual i guess. so it removed the found threats and problem still on going ? if it does , scan your C drive with malwarebytes and remove whats found.

yea but it’s ok i have files on other drives so it’s better to be safe than sorry … it cleaned the threats but run’s slow but i think that is due to it being on the older drive still haven’t installed win 10 but it’s on my to-do this week, lol
thanks hun i appreciate ur help i do think after installing windows 10 may solve the problem …hopefully could yal look at new post in help desk re: installing windows 10? its main reason i haven’t installed it yet am stumped by this, thanks so much!!
