My Laptop Cannot Connect To The Internet

August 4th, 2016

Hey guys – im here asking for help once again – no surprise there.
I got a new laptop today, Vista Home Premium 32-bit, with nice specs, and when I tried to connect it to the wireless and the cable modem/router they were both unsuccessfull. My desktop pc (which I am currently using) can pick up both the wireless and the cable connection – and use the internet fine.
The laptop doesn’t seem to pick up the cable connection, but it picks up the wireless connection, but cannot access the internet with it.
In the Wireless Network connection status it has – General – Connection –
IPv4 Connectivity: Local
IPv6 Connectivity: Limited
Media State: Enabled
SSID: Belkin54g
Duration 07:58:28
Speed: 54.0 Mbps
Signal Quality: 5/5 Bars.
No packets getting sent or recieved.
Anyone have any clue

No, no passwords
Answer #7
They are security keys, consider them like the key to your router.
Just like you need a key to acces your house, you need a WEP/WPA2 (not WAP) key to acces your router and internet. But if your desktop gets on the internet without any pass I suggest you reset the modem by pulling out the power for a minute. Then put it back in and boot your laptop.
Answer #8
Ok I just double checked… the driver wasn’t installed but that doesn’t seem to be my problem… considering the fact that I can’t install it – when I try to run the install utility and login with the Modem’s IP Address, user and pass it gives me the error “Can not connect with Server.”
Anyone else think that the network card is damaged on my laptop?
Answer #9
Does the laptop pick up the signal of your router?
