Can I connect my Wii to the Internet if I have AT&T?

December 8th, 2013

I have AT&T Internet and I want to connect my Nintendo Wii to the Internet. Can I do that? I heard that AT&T does not support Nintendo unless I am wrong. I shouldn’t have any problems connecting the Playstation 3 to the Internet.

lol
Is this a serious question? What does your ISP have to do with what devices connect to your network?
Answer #2
Yes this is a serious question. I heard that AT&T does not support Nintendo.
Answer #3
By the way I do not have a network set up. I have a LAN adapter hooked up to the back of the Nintendo Wii. I hooked up an Ethernet cable from the LAN adapter to the Modem box. Unless I need to have a router in order to connect my Wii to the Internet.
Answer #4
You need a router man. No, wait, I was wrong, what you need is Google. You know what Google is? Here I will link you…
http://www.google.com/
Answer #5
I know what google is. When people need help they post questions on here. That’s what I did.

Well, I suggest you learn how to use it then, because all the answers to your questions are there. Not trying to be rude, just trying to help man…
Give a man a fish, feed him for a day; Teach a man to fish, feed him for a lifetime!
Answer #7
I am not trying to be rude either. People post questions on for a reason and its because they need help. So that means everyone on here should use google instead of posting the questions here?

That is possibly the most accurate statement I’ve ever read here on WBB.
Congratulations.

When people know the answer to a certain question I am thankful. Even if they don’t know the answer to the question I am still thankful because they at least tried to help. This is a site where people help each other out. When I don’t find the answer on here then I browse the Internet. There are a lot of knowledgeable people on here that’s why when I had a question this is the first place I came.

Yes!
Apparently you have never read WBB rules (why you double posted), or the sticky that says “SOME BASIC RULES OF GETTING HELP”.
The Helpdesk is not designed for us to Google stuff for you and post the results here. You are encouraged to Google it your self first…
Answer #11
First I won’t double post again. Second just look at how many questions people ask every day. Why am I getting criticized for asking a question?

Let me clear up all this confusion:
1. There’s no connection whatsoever between your ISP to which devices you can connect to the internet,They can’t block
any particular one.
2. Provided that you have the Wii LAN Adapter+Ethernet cable and the modem is in the same room,A wireless router is not essential.
If however you wanna maintain the connectivity to your PC at the same time,You’d wanna get one.
Note: If your “modem” has more than a single Ethernet port then it’s a “router” and not a plain modem,For for the record,There are only
cable modems,For ADSL they’re always a combined Modem/Router.
3. If your unsure how to define the connection on the Wii,You should refer to the following manual:
http://www.nintendo.com/consumer/downloads/WiiChEng.pdf
prozac4312,SmAsHeDr I think both of you could’ve shown more respect towards the OP,Yes he could’ve Google’d it but frankly he wouldn’t be the first
one not to,Many people ask their questions here without doing so,That’s because they trust the knowledge of the experts on this
board and want the best in-depth answer they can get,The bottom line is,It’s just not right to make a mockery of someone who
genuinely needs help,Even if he doesn’t know something that’s supposed to be obvious.
