Connect 2 MacBooks Lan over internet

I try to connect with a friend to play War in the north like said in the title. The problem is, this game has ONLY local multiplayer.
So if we connect to the same wifi network everything works. If from a different location it does not, and its logical. I tried “Hamachi” and thought it would do the trick since I was using that on windows. After some searching I found out that “Hamachi” won’t work with all games and that it needs another program to force the computer use the private network created by Hamachi.
After that I tried GameRanger, which is now useless since the OS update changed a lot of things. GameRaner needs a lot fixing so a new version won’t be out soon. I found posts about warcraft and mine craft but nothing about this game. If you have any idea at all how to play Lan over internet please share.

Have you tried Voobly? Not sure if it supports it, but you could give it a shot.
